So Thursday we're going to my mother in law's for dinner. I wasn't that concerned about it until I realized.
No leftovers!!
No extra turkey, no mashed potatoes, stuffing, or gravy?!? No 'moist maker' for my sandwich (do you remember that episode from Friends - always cracks me up :)) If you don't know the episode, watch part of it now:
Well, that wasn't sittin' too well around the PFM household, so guess what I did?
Yup, I made Thanksgiving dinner for us tonight (with extra Madeira gravy - for the moist maker). I cooked a turkey in my slow cooker (yeah, it was weird, but it worked sort of), stuffing muffins, Brussels sprouts roasted with bacon, mashed potatoes, and cranberry sauce.
We had plans this afternoon (thus the slow cooker method), so the bird cooked while we were out. I got home and did the rest fairly quickly. Since I was only cooking for 3 it didn't take much to pull it together.
Right before B went to bed she had a presleep bowl of mashed potatoes with butter and gravy. I love that kid! I'm the same way - I could practically do shots of gravy, I love it so much.
Have you guys done this too? Making Thanksgiving dinner before the big day, just for leftovers?

I haven't done that, but I totally don't blame you. Actually it's been so long since we went somewhere else for Thanksgiving that I don't remember what I did. I think it was before we had kids.
