Notmartha has a great post today. She's a stop on Gluten Free Girl's virtual book tour. Instead of just reviewing the book, she decided to live gluten free for the day.
It's amazing how similar her challenges are to those of us who need to live nut free (or soy free or egg free, etc. etc.). Take a look. I know it will be very familiar to you ALL.
It would have been an interesting experiment to document our old life compared to how it is now. I remember feeling so overwhelmed at first, but now, it's just life.
How about you? Isn't there anything you still haven't gotten used to avoiding?

I tried to live gluten free for a day. My son does it and I'm good with him, but I'd mindlessly start grabbing things like a Triskit and it just blew my whole effort. I'd definitely have to take all the gluten out of the house until I got used to it. The gluten free diet isn't bad, it's just hard for us gluten eating individuals to remember.
I think I will always miss peanut butter and banana sandwiches. It has been over 6 years since I last had one. I won't keep pb in the house with my son's allergy.
I crave peanut butter and jelly sandwiches now like I craved margaritas when I was pregnant. I think it's just knowing that it's off limits that makes it all the more tempting. Oh well, kissing my sweet children's faces (both have peanut allergies) is so much tastier!
